Artist Statement
“Painting feeds my soul and light in nature influences that expression. Inspiration is often born from witnessing an ordinary moment, a child playing in the sand or laundry on a clothesline. The moment sunlight glistens along strands of hair or glows from behind branches of a tree, I am mesmerized and I need to paint. Once engaged with that “moment” my paintings focus on the relationship between warmth of light, coolness of shadow, and the drama of atmosphere.”
